Museum
is one kind of information source. As an information source, of course the
museum provides information for the public, without exception. Including Bank
Indonesia Museum that is located in Central Jakarta. The museum which opened on
July 21st 2009, was
considered as one of the most exciting museum in Indonesia due to its quality. Information that is given is
also interesting, all information about the largest bank in Indonesia, Bank
Indonesia. To ease the visitors, this museum split their collections to five
parts. The five parts of Bank Indonesia Museum is theatre, history room,
contlempation room, and numinastic room, and monetary gold room.
The first part is theatre. This theatre looks wide and
quite comfortable., and can accommodate up to 60 people at once. Some films are
provided for the visitors, such like a film about the history of Bank
Indonesia. The films can be selected in accordance with the needs of visitors.
The second part is history room. This part is like a long
corridor, and also can be said as the biggest part in this museum. We can
assumed as the timeline of Bank Indonesia, from
its beginning in 19th century until now. This part also got
split in to 8 parts, the history of central bank, the beginning of 19th
century, the history of octroy, the history of de javasche bankwet, history in
Japanese colonial, history during the revolution, history after Indonesia’s
independence, and part for the introduction of Bank Indonesia’s president.
The contlempation room is the third
part. In this room that is dominated by green color, we can feel the atmosphere
like when those Bank Indonesia’s chairmans are doing diucussion. And also, in
this room there are a lot of interesting collections, like a typewriter, iron,
telephone, and old-style computer.
Next is numinastic room. This room
is filled with different types of money, from different era, and also from
different countries. In this room can be found the money that had been
published from the past until now, from a really simple shaped money until
paper money that we use now. There are also money from other countries,
arranged according to its native country.
The last part is monetary gold room,
which contains lots of gold bullion replica. Although only a replica, it looks
like the original. There is also a small box that contains a single replica of
gold bullion, where visitors can touch and feel it. The weight of this replica
is the same as the original, which is 13kg, so not all visitors can lift it,
especially the kids.
The museum is a place that is really
interesting to visit. In addition to recreation, the museum has lot of
information that could add to our insight. Bank Indonesia Museum as one of the
museum in Indonesia, contains lot of information about the largest bank in
Indonesia. Theatre,
history room, contlempation room, and numinastic room, and monetary gold room
are all the parts in this museum, which make it easier for the visitors to
understand the informations.
